e-Courts- With MMP, the Indian court system will be transformed through technology. In order to implement the reporting tools in the Indian justice system, the e-Commission submitted a report to the Supreme Court.
ICT will be implemented in Indian courts in three phases over a period of five years under the e-Courts MMP. As part of the MMP, 700 courts across Delhi, Bombay, Kolkata, and Chennai will receive automated decision-making and decision-support systems for a development, delivery, installation, and implementation.
Objectives- Provide citizen-centered services in a timely manner.
National Law Schools- Law schools at various national levels have gained a lot of importance as quality legal education has become more and more important. As a result of student demands, states decided to establish new law schools/universities at the national level. Currently, 16 national-level law schools/universities are offering quality legal education at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
The universities/law schools also conduct short- and medium-term orientations, training programs, and refresher courses for non-profit organizations, public officials, local self-government officials, legal professionals, and other administrative and corporate officials.
Pro Bono legal service- Despite its widespread use, pro bono legal services remain an ad hoc, individualized practice that lacks an institutional structure in the country.
A pro bono activity is one that functions for the public good, and comes from Latin expressions such as "pro bono Publico". Many lawyers provide free legal advice and support to poor and underprivileged clients. It is unfortunate that this laudable tradition of public service has not received any recognition deserving of its recognition. The practice of providing pro bono legal assistance has become a dominant method of providing free representation to the poor and underserved in many countries.
Objectives- Providing pro bono legal services to lawyers and other legal professionals
Inter-operable Criminal Justice System- In order to facilitate the seamless transfer of data and information between different parts of the criminal justice system, such as courts, police, jails, and forensic science laboratories, the Interoperable Criminal Justice System (ICJS) was developed by the e-Committee.
Case and court management can be effectively managed by the ICJS platform since all relevant information about a case are readily available in real-time to the courts. It is also possible to comply with judicial orders and summonses expeditiously, ensuring effective time management. In terms of both qualitative and quantitative productivity, the ICJS will mark a landmark for the criminal justice system.
