Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojna (PKVY)- In line with the National Mission of Sustainable Agriculture (NMSA), the Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana (PKVY) is an initiative under the Soil Health Management (SHM) scheme that aims to build organic models of excellence through the application of traditional knowledge and modern science in a value chain mode to place sustainability, to increase soil fertility, to ensure resource conservation and to produce food grown using organic methods, free of agrochemicals. By developing institutions, PKVY also aims to empower farmers through the implementation of practices such as management of farm inputs, quality assurance, and value additions using innovative methods. Quality assurance will be achieved through the Participatory Guarantee System (PGS) under the PKVY.
Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY)- Farmers are required to pay actuarial premiums of 2 percent in Kharif, 1.5 percent in Rabi food and oilseed crops, and 5 percent for commercial or horticultural crops, while the remaining portion of the actuarial or bid premium is equally shared by the government of India and the state of the farmer.
