As their name suggests, programmed castes and races are those that suffer from extreme social, educational, and economic backwardness due to their untouchability tradition and geographical isolation, and who require special consideration for safeguarding their interests and advancing their socio-economic well-being.
Taking care of the interests of Scheduled Castes is the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. It is the primary responsibility of all the Central Ministries to promote the interests of Scheduled Castes in the areas where they operate, and it is the responsibility of the State Governments to complement those efforts through interventions in critical sectors. The Ministry's Scheduled Castes Development Bureau (SCD) provides educational, economic, and social opportunities for Scheduled Castes. The protection and promotion of the interests of Scheduled Castes are also monitored by State Governments and Central Ministries.
Schedules Caste Sub-Plan (SCSP)- Considering social equity, it is imperative to intervene in the development aspirations of scheduled caste communities by developing sensitivity and empathy backed up by adequate resources. SCSP is an initiative to empower SC populations using science and technology.
Objective
Venture Capital Funds for Scheduled Caste- In order to promote entrepreneurship and provide financial assistance to Scheduled Caste entrepreneurs, The Indian government has launched a venture capital fund with a seed capital of Rs.200 crore To manage the program, the Industrial Finance Corporation of India will act as sponsor, Settler, Asset Management Company (AMC), and Nodal Agency. In addition to the sponsor contribution, the Industrial Finance Corporation of India will contribute Rs 45 crore as an investor contribution. Scheduled caste entrepreneurs will receive assistance up to Rs.15 crore for a period of up to six years under this scheme
Online complaints management portal for people from programmed castes- To provide a mechanism for Scheduled Castes citizens in the country to file applications and other grievances related to atrocities or services online and to have these grievances addressed timely, The National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) has launched the Online Grievance Management Portal. Through this portal, the NCSC intends to simplify the redress of grievances, especially for scheduled castes. Complaints and grievances will be filed and tracked through the portal on an end-to-end basis. One can register on this portal and file a complaint with the Commission once it is linked to the Commission's website. You can download files and play audio and video files. Complaints and grievances can be submitted in this way, in addition to physically submitting them.
